We are looking to hire an undergraduate student to work part time in the Molecular Microbial Ecology Lab. Could our lab be a good fit for you?
The ideal candidate would be a Microbiology major or equivalent, is curious and eager to learn, with some experience with sterile technique, pipetting, media preparation, biological maths. Tasks include work maintaining mixed cultures, media prep, keeping a neat and detailed laboratory notebook, and assisting with lab chores. Prior independent lab research experience is not required; students will receive all the training they need on the job.
This student will be expected to be available at least 10 hours per week. Students who are available during the winter session will be given priority consideration. Pay will be commensurate with experience. This is not an independent study position, but conversion to independent study or thesis work may be possible for first- or second-year students.
